AIR QUALITY
The “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO monitors air quality in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Hrazdan, Ararat, Tsaghkadzor, Charentsavan, Kapan and Kajaran cities. In the settlements listed above, there are 15 stationary active sampling observation stations and 214 mobile passive sampling observation stations.
The assessment of air quality is performed in comparison with the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) of pollutants approved by the decision N 160- Ն of February 2, 2006 of the Government of the RA.

In order to determine the contents of atmospheric pollutants, observations were made in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Hrazdan, Ararat, Tsaghkadzor, Charentsavan, Kapan and Kajaran in April 2024. In total, there are 15 stationary active sampling observation stations and 214 mobile passive sampling observation stations in the settlements listed above.
The average monthly concentration of dust in April exceeded the MPCs in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Hrazdan and Ararat cities by (1.1-1.5/m3) times, respectively. In Gyumri the amount was insignificant. Dust pollution can be caused by industrial processes, vehicles, road dust, construction, agricultural and other activities.
